Anna Kournikova
Born in Moscow on June 7, 1981, Anna Kournikova was encouraged to play sports at any early age by her athelete father, Sergei, who wrestled professionally and coached tennis part-time. By age eight, Anna was a member of the Spartak Tennis Club, where she caught the eye of American tennis scouts at Moscow's first ever ATP Tour, where she competed in the junior event. A year later, she was enrolled in the Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy in Bradenton, Florida and the rest, as they say, is history...
Although not the best player on the circuit by any means, Kournikova's natural Hollywood looks and sex appeal have earned her the status of worldwide media darling. In 2001, she had the dubious honor of having a famous Internet virus named for her.
Off the court, Kournikova has been romantically linked with singer and actor, Enrique Iglesias.
